SupportAbility Web App 9.14

Update

Work Types and the Employment Hero Timesheet API are now available

  • Beta testing has concluded successfully, and both features are now available for all providers.

  • Work Types can be configured and applied to Staff Shifts as needed, and Timesheet data can be sent to Employment Hero for payroll processing via API, once configured, without a manual export step.

Update

A faster, clearer way to work with the roster

The roster has had a significant refresh, focused on helping you get to the right Activities and Shifts, and the right people, with greater ease.

Find the right staff to fill or replace shifts instantly

In the Timeline view, a new inline search bar sits directly above the staff rows, allowing you to filter the staff list by Staff Members, Site, Service, Program and Employment Type all at once.

  • The search bar replaces the Staff Members dropdown in the Timeline sidebar and shows your first few filters, with a “+N” button to view the rest.

  • Stack filters like “Support Coordination” and “Casual” to refine the list of suitable staff members to fill or take a shift.

    • Staff and shifts that do not match are not displayed, and each group header shows a match count, such as “4 of 12 match”, so you always know if there is data that sits outside your filters.

    • This includes the To Be Filled group, so if a filter is hiding an unfilled shift, you will see it as “0 of 1 match” rather than an empty section.

Filter by what needs attention

A new Status filter lets you narrow the roster cards displayed to Shifts and Activities in each view that are:

  • ‘To Be Filled’,

  • ‘Needs Attention’ (clashes, client conflicts, absentees), or

  • ‘Not Signed Off’, which reflects the sign-off state of the Activity or the Shift, depending on which you are viewing.

Combine these with your existing filters, and the roster updates instantly, with no reload required.

Your active Status filter also appears as a removable chip above the roster, so it remains visible even when the sidebar is collapsed.

See your filters at a glance

Selections in the ‘View Roster By’ filters on the left-hand side now appear as removable chips directly beneath each dropdown, making it clear how your roster is filtered without reopening a single menu.

Where you have a long list selected, the first five are shown with a “+N” button that opens the full list. You can remove any individually, or ‘Clear all’ with one click.

Choose your own date range

Alongside Day, Week, and Month, Fortnight and Custom options are now available.

Fortnight aligns with your organisation’s ‘Pay Period’ settings, so if your pay cycle starts on a Wednesday, the Fortnight view starts there too, and the day columns read from that day.

A Custom date range (up to 1 month) can be selected when viewing Activities in the Calendar and Agenda views. This is designed to allow you to focus on a selected date range, e.g. an excursion or camp that spans multiple days.

The mini calendar on the left shows your selection as a highlighted band with clear start and end points.

Fewer clicks to change what you are looking at

Data and Period are no longer dropdown menus. Where a view only supports one option, that value is now shown as a plain label rather than a menu that opens to a single choice.

In the Timeline view, for example, this simply reads “Day” and “Shifts” because those are the only options available.

A simpler, narrower sidebar

“Roster Data” is now clearly labelled “Filter roster by”, so the section makes its purpose clear: to filter the roster cards being displayed.

The Status filter sits below your main filters, and the Colour selector has moved out of the top bar into a new Display section at the bottom, grouped with how the roster looks rather than what it shows.

“Go back to Old Roster” is still available from the settings menu in the bottom left.
