The new Roster now has a print icon available in the page header, and the Agenda view print includes everything the old roster print offered, alongside individual Shift times.
Agenda view
Selecting the print icon opens a Print Options dialogue: “Additional data to include in the roster print of the Agenda view:”
Three options are available, matching the old roster: Activity Location, Replicating Staff Notes and Non-Replicating Staff Notes. All three are on by default.
The printout keeps the date, individual Shift start and finish times, staff and clients, and adds the options you have selected.
Staff notes print in full, however long they are. Shifts with no location or notes simply show neither.
These options affect the printout only. They don’t change what you see on screen.
Activity Location now also appears in the Shift rows on screen in the Agenda view.
Page breaks
A Shift is no longer split across two pages. This applies to the print icon and to printing from your browser (right-click or Ctrl+P).
We have also fixed an issue where the day heading could overlap, cutting off the last Shift of the previous day when printing from the browser.
Calendar view
Selecting the print icon prints straight away, with no dialogue.
Timeline view
Printing isn’t available in the Timeline view because the printout can’t reliably show the full day yet. Selecting the print icon shows the message: “Unable to print roster in Timeline view due to formatting issues. Please select Calendar or Agenda view to print.”
If you print the Timeline from your browser, the page shows the same message instead of an incomplete roster.
Tip: If you keep a daily printed or PDF copy of the roster as a backup, use the Agenda view with Shifts selected for the most complete record.
Previously, the Agenda view limited Shifts to the Day and Week views. You can now choose any period.
To keep the roster fast, the Agenda view shows up to 1,700 results at a time. If your selection is over the limit, e.g. 2000 results, a light blue information message appears where the Agenda would normally be:
This view has (2000) results, more than the Agenda view limit (1,700). Please narrow your date range or filters to see them.
Filtering by a staff member, client, Site, or Service will usually bring the view well under the limit. The limit applies to every period in the Agenda view with Shifts, including Day and Week. The Calendar view is unchanged.
The Agenda view now lists Activities and Shifts in start-time order, so a 7:45 am Shift will never appear after a 3 pm Shift.
Rows are ordered by start time.
Rows with the same start time are grouped by Service @ Site, and the label is shown only once for the first row of each group.
The same Service @ Site can appear more than once in a day, as a separate group for each start time.
Groups with the same start time, and rows within a group, are ordered by end time.
Group headings no longer show counts.
Changing the Colour setting (Data Type, Service or Site) now only changes card colour. It no longer changes the order or grouping.
Overnight Shifts that started the previous day appear at the top of the day, with their start date shown.
This applies to both Activities and Shifts, in every period. The ordering is also quicker to calculate, which helps on busier rosters.
Inactive staff no longer clutter the Staff Members filter when you are rostering ahead.
An inactive Staff Member only appears in the filter, including when searching by name, if they have Shifts in the period you are viewing.
When you look back at a past period where they worked, they appear under the Inactive heading as before.
The filter updates automatically when you change the period.
Active staff always appear.
The Timeline inline staff search follows the same rule, so inactive staff with Shifts during the period can now be found there as well.
If you have already selected an inactive staff member, they stay selected when you move to a different period.
